Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coatings are made with an atomic plasma spray treatment inside a high vacuum chamber to provide a super thin (less than 6 microns thick), durable, and sometimes colorful coating traditionally used to extend the life of cutting and forming tools. We love Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) to turn titanium black but there's a wide range to choose from with different hardnesses, chemical compositions, color, and friction coefficients. For this batch, we took some Titanium Slim Bolt Action Standards and added black DLC to the body paired with copper-color PVD on the clip, screw, bolt, and internal.
