| We've only made 15 Mokume Gane pens in the history of the company, making it the most rare of our exotics. This batch uses a mixture of finishes and materials to make each pen unique. First, they are machined smooth and buffed to a high polish. After that we bring out the color with either a chemical patina method or by applying heat directly. Some feature titanium damascus tips, tops, clips, or bolts while others have plain titanium. For something new, we developed a "fauxkume" clip which is anodized and lasered titanium to match the pattern of the particular pen it's attached to, making each unique to that specific pen. These pens will continue to darken and patina over time. | |
