Polygonal turning is a machining process where a multi-toothed cutter spins in sync with the spinning workpiece (see a great video example in the thumbnail gallery). By varying the phase and RPMs between the two, we’re able to create different geometric patterns on the outside diameter of the pen. Reminiscent of the infamous puzzle from the Da Vinci Code, Cryptex is the first pen in our Polygonal Collection. Both options are made from C630 bronze, with the Dark finish using our forced patina process accompanied by DLC coated hardware while the Bright finish is tumble polished and assembled with a bronze internal, titanium bolt and stainless clip.
